Why can't we bulk bill?
Since our establishment in 2016, the priority at Shore Care Family Practice has been to offer you, the patient, exceptional care. Whilst providing this quality service, it has become evident that we are no longer able to maintain an excellent standard of care and keep our fees low at the bulk billing rate.
For this reason, it is necessary that all patients, including pensioners and children, pay a competitive private fee. The government has promised to offer affordable healthcare for years, but the reality is that its Medicare rebate covers minimal practice costs and subsequently, a poor standard of health care. For this reason, true running costs will be re-evaluated regularly at Shore Care Family Practice, and prices will increase accordingly. This way, we will be able to provide you with the excellent care every person should receive. Medicare rebates will be refunded directly into your account as per usual, but we encourage you to think of these merely as a discount on the private fee charged. If you have concerns regarding private fees in general practice, we encourage you to make your voice heard by going to your Federal Member of Parliament. In the meantime, we encourage you to join us as we excitedly look to the future of excellence in primary healthcare, which subsequently will see better results in your quality of health too. Cancellation Policy
A missed appointment is a loss to three people: the client who missed the valuable time, another client who could have used the valuable time and the doctor who was fully staffed and prepared for the appointment. Please be considerate of others and provide at least 2 hours notice to cancel or reschedule your appointment.
To be able to offer affordable service to every one of our clients we have to protect our appointment availability via the following cancellation policy: - We require a minimum of 2 hour notice for any appointment cancellation to allow time to reallocate your appointment to another client. - If you cancel within 2 hours of your appointment, or don't present to your appointment, we reserve the right to charge the missed appointment fee. |
